SACLA Short History

SACLA Health Project is a Christian based organization. This organization believes that there is nothing possible without God. Faith and trust in God guides and displays everything that SACLA is today.

In February 1980 it was called Empilisweni SACLA Clinic and it was the only clinic in Old Cross roads where Primary Health Care Workers who were part of SACLA worked under the guidance of and in conjunction with Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Dentists. By 1984 the comrades, witdoeke and community members were attacking one another. In 1986 SACLA was evicted from old cross roads by the apartheid system. The original clinic was then burnt down with all its resources.

People continued to pray and hope for the future until SACLA was re-established in New Cross Roads under the name of SACLA Health Project. SACLA grew as an organization with more staff members and improved credibility. SACLA has become a financially stable organization.
